Stitched With Love in Birdsong

Love is in the air! Let us introduce you to Birdsong, the latest collection byJera Brandvig. These sweet and nostalgic prints are filled with birds and bouquets in soft, vintage-inspired colors like pretty pinks and minty greens. As a designer, Jera draws inspiration from her travels and antique textiles. She imagined the colors and prints for Birdsong while on a trip to Paris with her family. The Birdsong fabrics feature sweet sparrows, ticking stripes, and romantic florals that will add a touch of charm to your sewing projects.

For her Birdsong collection, Jera created the Stitched with Love Quilt, a beautiful design with a double border. The simple alternating snowball and 9-patch units give the quilt a scrappy look that can be made by mixing the pinks and greens for a scrappy look or separately for a more monochromatic feel. You can find the Stitched with Love Quilt pattern in the Get Started section of the project. The instructions are available to view and download for free.

We also love projects like the Wholehearted quilt (pictured below) from A Bright Corner, which comes in four different sizes. The center of each heart features traditional patchwork like a churn dash, sawtooth star, and flying geese units. This is a great quilt to make for confident beginners to learn new skills and for more experienced quilters who want a fun piecing project. Jera Brandvig lives in a cozy home in Seattle, Washington with her two boys and wonderful husband. After having her first son, she took a break from the biotech industry to raise her children. During that time, her creative side took over, and she wrote two best-selling books, Quilt As-You-Go, Made Modern, and Quilt As-You-Go, Made Vintage, and also designed fabric. Jera has returned to biotech doing clinical research. However, quilting will always be her true passion as she continues to quilt and design fabric on the side and also has a 3rd book on the way!
