Our Latest Collections Part 1
We are thrilled to announce our new Maywood Studio collections for Spring! We have two gorgeous florals, Willoughby and Nature Studies, new rich, jewel-toned colors in Colorfield, and new designer collections from Bonnie Sullivan and Kris Lammers. Bonnie's new collection Little Chicks Flannel is colored up in the sweetest nursery pastels and works perfectly with her Little Lambies Flannel fabrics, and I Heart You from Kris Lammers is an adorable Valentine's Day collection. Plus, we have Lydia Johnson, a new designer to introduce you to with her first collection Cups & Quilts! Are you excited to learn more? Keep reading!
Since we have so much to cover, we'll focus on a few collections at a time. Let's start with Willoughby. This collection was inspired by late 19th and early 20th-century English manor home interiors. The prints in this collection are influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement, which emphasized nature in the decorative arts. There are rich floral and leaf-focused prints, as well as tonal geometric patterns that create traditional designs with a modern twist.
The deep blues, creamy neutrals, and pop of yellow work together for projects like the Sunny Side Quilt by Lavender Lime pictured here. The Sunny Side Quilt finishes at 66-1/2 x 82-1/2" and is precut-friendly. To get started, you'll need these fabrics from the Willoughby Collection: two packs of 5" squares, five fat quarters, 1-1/2 yards for the border, and 3-1/8 yards for the background fabric. We used a light Shadow Play in this sample for the background. The Sunny Side Quilt pattern by Lavender Lime can be purchased at your favorite independent quilt shops and wherever you buy your quilting, sewing, and crafting supplies.
There are so many fun projects we are imaging making with the Willoughby collection. Above are a few more projects we love: the Twisted Tulips Quilt by The Tipsy Needle (above left), the Willow Meadow Quilt by The Whimsical Workshop (above right), the Triple Window Quilt by Bound to Be Quilting (lower left), and two versions of the Oxbow Tote by Noodlehead (Lower right).
You can find the pattern details and the fabric requirements for each project on our website under the 'get started' tab. This is also where you will find the instructions for our free projects, which we post when the collections ships to shops. We colored up our new free pattern the Parfait Quilt in the Willoughby collection. This strip-friendly project is a great way to showcase the large florals in Willoughby. You can make two quilts or one reversible quilt, and stay tuned because we also colored it up in another one of our new collections! Have you figured out which one yet?
We are looking forward to Willoughby shipping to shops this September and seeing all the fun projects you will make. We promise it will be worth the wait!
