New Collections and New Projects: Summer 2024

Hey there! Here are the latest fabric collections from Maywood Studio: Regal Rose, Dilly Dally, Dark & Stormy, Flower Wash 108" quilt backs, and Colorfield 108" quit backs. We've also updated the Kimberbell Solids collection, now with 45 vibrant colors. The quilt shown above and below is the Beehive Quilt by Elizabeth Hartman made with Kimberbell Solids. It's the perfect project to celebrate tending to our gardens - and we have a new kit to make it! We have created many quilt designs for each of these collections, so keep scrolling to see what we've put together to inspire you.

Maywood Studio is known for our floral collections and this season we have some gorgeous ones. Regal Rose is an elegant floral that captures the allure of roses, celebrating their delicate yet resilient nature. The collection combines rich reds with soft creams and pinks, reminiscent of hand-painted porcelain vases brimming with bouquets. We have a new free pattern called Jewelry Box (below left) designed to feature a large-scale floral in the center.

We took a step back in time for our next collection, Dilly Dally. These cheerful, small-scale feedsack-inspired prints from our archive are colored up in a rainbow of authentic colors and patterns from the 1930s and 1940s. We recreated a vintage quilt made the Criss Cross pattern (below left) and mixed it with our favorite blender Shadow Play. Dilly Dally is a Kim's Cause collection, which means we donate a portion of the sales to fund cancer research.

Now for something completely different! The Dark & Stormy collection features a selection of sophisticated and traditional prints in neutral hues ranging from light blue to warm taupes to deep navy. We love the moody elegance and timelessness of this collection. We also colored up the Jewelry Box quilt in this collection, and you can see some of our other favorite projects below.

One of our favorite things to design here at Maywood Studio is 108" quilt backs. This season we have two collections to share! The first might seem familiar, and that is because it is! Colorfield 108" quilt backs is a new collection based on our popular Colorfield blender! You might recall that we added a new range of jewel tones to that collection last season. The quilt backs have neutrals, jewel tones, and multi-colored versions.

And the grand finale is the Flower Wash 108" quilt back collection. These beautiful watercolor florals are designed to make your quilt backs bloom! Awash with subtle colors, there are six variations from punchy corals to soothing purples and neutral indigos.
