Apply to be a 2024 Maywood Maker

Do you have a passion for sewing and quilting, and want to be part of a collaborative community? Maywood Studio is currently looking for volunteers who are quilters, sewists, makers, or crafters, and have an interest in the Maywood Studio brand. Apply now to become one of the 2024 Maywood Makers and join a unique group of talented sewing and quilting enthusiasts. The application is open from now until December 15th, 2023. Successful applicants will be notified via email by December 22nd, 2023.

We asked the 2023 Maywood Maker team about their experience, and they had a lot to say. Learning about the quilting industry, being part of a creative community, and making new friendships were common themes among the team. Jeresther Thorpe-Page, a 2023 Maywood Maker, said, "Being a Maywood Maker has been a great experience for me. The best part is learning and sharing tips and techniques with my fellow Makers. We became an instant community of friends." Debora Rivera, another Maywood Maker, shared, "It has been a rewarding experience. I have loved working with the newest fabrics, finding new opportunities, and being part of a talented and diverse team. If you love fabric and working with other creatives, the Maywood Maker team might be the perfect opportunity for you too!"

Maywood Studio is excited to support a unique group of talented sewing and quilting enthusiasts for the third year in a row. The program offers many benefits, such as opportunities to interact with Maywood Studio team members, participate in virtual calls with industry professionals, join a private Facebook group, and receive additional Maywood Studio fabric for projects outside of the program requirements.

The highlight of the Maywood Maker program is working with the team on the projects they create. The 2023 team created mini quilts with Vintage Flora by Kimberbell, which were displayed at the Sister's Outdoor Quilt Show in July. They also created projects using holiday and winter precut collections, showcasing their creativity and talent. Finally, the team worked on the Maywood Maker Star Sampler, which highlighted the new Shadow Play colors. 

It's always fun to meet the team members in person, like Maywood Maker LaTanya of Parliamentary Quilts and Crafts (above) who stopped by for a photo shoot while in town on other business. Although there is no pattern for the Star Maker Sampler quilt that the 2023 Maywood Maker team created, it's a great project to make with friends, and the Maker community is all about making new friends. We are grateful for the 2023 Maywood Maker team and the beautiful group project they created.
