Susie Hetherington
As a pattern and printmaker, Susie is devoted to bringing to life designs that celebrate the natural world. Having always delighted in the finer details found in flowers, leaves and scenery, she enjoys selecting shapes from nature that can be brought together and enjoyed in pattern. Originally a graphic designer, returning to doing things by hand brings her great satisfaction, and inspires her to encourage others to learn a craft and get back to the handmade. Via workshops, educational projects and collaborations, she aims to be a part of the creative community and help pass on enthusiasm for getting hands inky and trying new things. The Arts and Crafts movement as well as ‘visual field trips’ to historic architecture, interiors and gardens also help to influence her work.
She lives and works in a village near Stroud, Gloucestershire UK, with her husband, three young daughters, and a dog called Maud.
